LGBT rights - Please don't tell me you're not homophobic but don't want gays to marry/to teach your kids/etc. Please. Don't waste your time and my breath on laughing at you. There are people that don't like the idea of homo/bisexuality that I don't consider homophobic. Know why?

Because they don't go out of their way to deny the LGBT community basic civil SECULAR rights like the aforementioned fucks. So, for the record, when I think a person is "homophobic", what I'm saying is "this person believes that they're better than other people and deserve the right to deny rights to others, rights they can claim themselves because their god says so, despite a separation of church and state existing". Really, if you are someone who voted yes on 8 or any other such nonsense, you aren't a friend of mine. I know some nice yes on 8 voters. Good people, but they've either been lied to by their church or they have that annoying superiority complex I refer to as "homophobia". Also known superiority complexes: racism, xenophobia, sexism, etc.

Again, if you think I am talking about you, take a second to think, "Would I vote or otherwise take action to prevent someone of a different race/religion/sexuality/sex/gender from the rights I have, even if I do not like/approve of it?" This is a yes or no answer. If your answer is no, I am not talking about you.

Bottom line: many people have dealbreakers. This one's mine. If you are someone who voted yes on 8, would beat up someone of another race for that reason only, etc., you and I are not real friends. I can work with you, I can be cordial to you, but this is beyond me thinking you're wrong. This is me thinking I can not deeply associate with you on the grounds of disturbing my own moral conscience.

Oh, and I hate that crazy fundies have ruined the words "moral" and "conscience". This are things that can have meanings for both religious and secular people, no matter what anyone might tell you. Personal morals and consciences are good things to have. Just stop enforcing your own on others.

"Your body is a temple" - This is something commonly said by people who follow Judeo-Christian religions, but I've heard it from others as well. Generally as "reminders" to me when I talk about the fact I've done topless modeling that's now available on the internet and possibly other public places or that I'm maybe thinking about tattoos. Why is this more inherently harmful to your body than running or weightlifting or piercing or whatever? I have no moral qualms with my body. My body is not some sinful shell, it is the vehicle that carries my soul around and I alter it to look as such. If that means tattoos or nude modeling, then who the fuck cares but me? Basically, if my body is a temple, let ME worship as I goddamn please, and I'll let you do the same.

Some randomness:
1. I think I've crippled myself from computer use. XD I find that I dread handwritten assignments and avoid them.
2. I CANNOT PLUCK MY OWN EYEBROWS. I tried, and I'm too much of a baby. It hurts, I sneeze, etc. Really, I'm not sure I'm an adult sometimes.
3. My friend Aaron and I are starting a new political group. Despite the desire to call it "Gays with Guns", we realize we need to come up with a more encompassing name. Basically, we're pro gay rights and pro gun rights. This is kind of our platform, to my knowledge.

- Equal marriage rights, workpay, etc for the LGBT community, as well as different races, different sexes, etc.
- A right to own arms (with the basic restriction of child locks, background checks, 3-day waiting periods, and mandatory training. The more advanced the gun, the more training and checks you are subject to)
- Pro-choice, with maybe some limitations on partial-birth abortions

I'll write more as I feel like it.

Why are we the same political person? I always feel like I lose my liberal street cred because I love guns so very much. ;)

I don't think that being so quick to hate a label is good. (ie gays, blacks, or EVEN 'yes on 8 voters')

I am not happy about what happened with prop 8, and I voted no because I am tired of labels, especially in poolitics.

I don't hate yes on 8 voters. I said that. I just said that at this time, I am unable to have a true friendship with a person like that.
